My Dad home on leave.  He had threatened to enlist if she wouldn't agree to marry. She agreed and they married in May 1941.   Of course Pearl Harbor came in December so it was not surprising that he ended up in the Navy.  Here home on leave in July 1943, his parents Milwaukee home is in the background.  He would be  trained as a radioman (Morse code translator) and stationed at the Norfolk  Navel Yard in Virginia.  He never would leave the states.  I was born in the  Norfolk Naval Hospital at the war's end, in August 1945.
